Eriks Development Partner, in swedish called Erikshjälpen, was founded in 1967 with the name "The Foundation for Uncle Erik´s Children and Relief Support". The foundation started with Erik Nilssons work in 1946.

Erik Nilsson was born in Ruda, Småland 1929. He suffered from haemophilia and the number of visits to the hospital were many. Instead of feeling sorry for himself, he began sending encouraging greetings and small gifts to other sick children. "Sick children can be happy children", became Erik´s motto. Even though he himself had haemophilia, he started a work which still flourishes today. Erik Nilsson died at the age of 37, but his work continues and today Eriks Development Partner is a worldwide organisation which continues to put children in the first place.
You can read more about Erik Nilsson's life in the book "Uncle Erik in the Ministry of Love" by Ulla Nilsson.
Eriks Development Partner is a relief organisation controlled by SFI, The Foundation for Relief Control.
